If you qualify and take the student loan forgiveness, does it effect your credit?

    • In some cases the amount of the loan forgiven is taxable, which means that it is considered as an income on which you have to pay income taxes. Unpaid taxes will negatively affect your credit. In other cases, loan forgiveness should not affect your credit. However, public service loan forgiveness, teacher loan forgiveness, law school loan repayment support programs and the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program are not taxable.

I have a studenr loan for which I can not pay. I am a disabled man who recie es very little from SSI. Also, that for which I wanted “pharmacy tech”, I was td by my school of coice was not available. I went to Harris School of Business in 2005. When I enrolled they said that was possible. After 4 months of preliminary courses the school sail Pharmacy Tech was not available and they had said in order to finish I had to pick another course. I didn’t want another course. I didn’t want to lose my money, and excelled in only one other thing, Coding and Billing. I took the test and passed. I received a certificate. During this course I developed Carpul Tunnel Syndrome, I was told that no company could hire me. The Harris School said there was nothing they could do, I had completed the course. Now I have this student loan, am on SSI and Sallie Mae has once already garnished my SSI money for 10 months. Can someone help me, what can I do? Please call me at *** *** ****. Kevin Michael.
